The Creature Feature supplies Whipsnade Zoo

The Creature Feature was selected by Whipsnade Zoo to supply specialist equipment for their displays.  Now other Zoos are interested in using our services.

The Creature Feature held their first exhibition at the Family Go Live exhibition at The Great Yorkshire Show ground

We all had a great time showing off our creatures at the exhibition and caused quite a lot of interest being the only stand with live animals there.

Gaboon Viper has now arrived

The female Gaboon Viper has now arrived in our show vivarium in the shop together with our Copperhead Pit Viper - they are stunning animals which you won't normally see!

We can supply all the equipment and knowledge to go with these beautiful but "deadly" creatures providing you obtain a DWA License from your local Council.

Contact for more details.

Rattlesnake shed

The western diamondback has now shed and the skin has been measured 5ft 2"!

James was very proud of this and those in Year 2 at Deighton Gates were able to touch it!

The Meerkats are here....

Changes in the shop

We have installed more vivariums for more livestock including large vivariums for large constrictors in our "Constrictor Zone".  This has enabled us to extend our dry stock to cater for even more requirements.

Creatures Feature in schools

UP and coming film, Charlotte's Web, has inspired educational company The Creature Feature, to work with Schools.
The company, based in Harrogate, has started a learning and conservation programme to encourage youngsters of all ages to face their fears of spiders, snakes and reptiles.
Deighton Gates Primary has already received its visit from The Creature Feature who also run specialist store, Paradise Aquatics, on Starbeck's High Street.  The children looked at various species of real baby spiders and they even studied a full size adult tarantula during the special visit.
They met tortoises, snakes, millipedes, mantids and a baby crocodile and they talked about their experiences to The Creature Feature director, Andy Sagar.
"This is all about re-educating the general public that we as a human race would not survive without spiders as they do more good than many people know." said Mr Sagar.  "I manged to convince the children they are not the scary monsters we are always led to believe".
Mr Sagar is pleased to announce that Deighton Gates Primary has opted to sponsor a Galapagos Tortoise.
This will help pay for conversation work on the island.
For more information about "meet the creature days" please call Andy on 01423 885692 or log onto www.thecreaturefeature.co.uk.

Carpet Python

We have now on show a rescued 8ft Carpet Python that was in the local news. It was found in October on the side of the A59 near Knaresborough by a lorry driver who called the RSPCA who then called in the police (due to it's size!). It was sent to a local rescue centre and is now in our care in the shop in our display viv. It is not for sale but it is a very impressive display animal. We shall be contacting the local school in Starbeck to hold a competition to name this snake.
Now feeding well and for sale.
